Tape Drawings

Tape Drawings are made from dozens of layers of black and white paper tape, repeatedly ripped, layered, and manipulated into a highly textured whirlpool of pulsating energy. The undulations in the surface intensify the physicality and underlying turbulence of the work with the tape not only defining the energy, but physically trying to contain it. On a macro level one can read the explosion of the cosmos; on a micro level it looks like a magnification of neurons transmitting impulses of energy.
